Becky Sanders, CAPS

Regional Property Manager - First Pointe Management Group

 

Beginning her career as an on-site leasing agent, Becky Sanders has worked in the multifamily housing industry since 1994.  Becky recently joined First Pointe Management Group, and has previously held the position of Regional Property Manager with Simpson Property Group for 9 years, responsible for their Seattle portfolio of 1,900 units. Headquartered in Calabasas, California, First Pointe Management Group is engaged in the acquisition, development, redevelopment, financing, ownership, and asset management of real estate properties in California and the Western United States.  Becky is well versed in the many aspects of property management to include: lease-up, renovation, new development, garden style, mid-rise, high-rise, senior housing, commercial, and student housing.  In addition to her time with Simpson, Becky has worked as a Regional Property Manager for AIMCO, Holland Residential, and Madison Apartment Group.  Becky earned her CAPS designation in 2014.

Sheri Druckman, CAPS

Director of Real Estate - Greystar

Sheri Druckman brings over 20 years of experience to Greystar, which she joined as Director of Real Estate in 2014. She is responsible for overseeing the execution of the strategic business plan for Seattle. Ms. Druckman previously served as Regional Manager at Madrona Ridge Residential achieving optimum performance results by successfully implementing comprehensive programs, initiatives and strategies. Ms. Druckman has expertise in managing portfolios including stabilized, major rehabilitation and new construction projects. Prior to Madrona Ridge, Ms. Druckman held Senior Management roles with Simpson Property Group and Trammell Crow Residential Services executing due diligence, underwriting, acquisition and dispositions. Sheri is the recipient of the WMFHA 2014 Portfolio Manager of the Year Emerald Award. Ms. Druckman maintains a Real Estate Broker license for the State of Washington.

Laura McGuire, CAM

Regional Manager, Washington – Woodspear Properties 

As Regional Manager for Woodspear Properties’ Washington portfolio, Laura oversees a conventional multi-family portfolio. Laura was previously with Independent Living, Inc./Senior Housing Assistance Group as a Portfolio Manager, leading a LIHTC Section 42 senior housing mixed-use portfolio. With nearly 25 years in the industry, Laura has previously worked for MG Properties Group and Fairfield Residential. Laura earned her Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) designation in 1997, was accepted as a CPM candidate with IREM in 2015 and plans to get her Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation in 2016. Ms. McGuire will graduate from Regis University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and a Minor in Applied Psychology.

Melissa Downs

Regional Property Manager – Essex Property Trust

Melissa joined Essex Property Trust in 2010 as a Community Manager responsible for an 882-unit community in the middle of a fill interior and exterior renovation. In Melissa’s current role as Regional Property Manager, she is responsible for overseeing 9 properties totaling 1,931 residential units and 16 commercial spaces. Previously, Ms. Downs worked for Pinnacle as Business Manager and Whisler Land Company in Sacramento, CA.

Rob Pendleton, CAS

District Manager, PNW - HD Supply Facilities Maintenance

 

Rob currently serves as the Pacific Northwest District Sales Manager for HD Supply Facilities Maintenance, a leading industrial distribution company, providing a broad range of maintenance and repair products and services to professional customers in the multifamily industry. Rob has been employed with HD Supply for over 13 years and has over 20 years of experience working as a supplier and partner to the multifamily industry in the Seattle market. For the last 8 years, Rob has been a committee member of the Maintenance Mania Event co-sponsored by the National Apartment Association and the Washington Multi-Family Housing Association. Rob is a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest and earned a Business Degree from Central Washington University. Rob holds the Certified Apartment Supplier (CAS) designation from the National Apartment Association.

Brett Stevens, CPM, CAPS

Senior Regional Supervisor - Fairfield Residential

 

Brett is the Senior Regional Supervisor for Fairfield Residential in the Pacific Northwest Region.  Fairfield Residential Company LLC is among the largest and most successful multifamily real estate operating companies in the U.S.  They are privately held and provide acquisition, entitlement, development, construction, redevelopment, property management, asset management, and disposition services to their clients.  Brett has worked in the real estate management field since 1996.  Prior to joining Fairfield Residential, Brett spent time with Holland Residential, Essex Property Trust and spent nine years as the Director of Asset Management for Senior Housing Assistance Group.  Brett earned the Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation in 2015, and earned the CPM® designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management®.  Mr. Stevens holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

Kari Anderson

Vice President, Thrive Communities

Kari is a Principal at Thrive Communities where she serves as the Vice President. Thrive Communities manages over 6,000 apartments in Puget Sound. She began her property management career in 1986 with Trammell Crow Residential Services. In 1994, she joined Equity Residential and worked as the VP overseeing the state of Washington. While she was with Equity, Kari was instrumental in helping found the Washington Multi-Family Housing Association. Kari served as first and fifth Board President of the association, she has served on the Board of Directors in the past, and has worked on numerous committees, currently as the Chair of the Membership Committee.

 




     

Kenneth Baff

Co-Founder - 1UP Floors

Kenneth is co-founder of 1UP Floors, a flooring company that exclusively serves the multifamily industry. 1UP Floors has been servicing the Puget Sound since 2014 and has grown with rapid success in its two and a half years. Kenneth has spent a decade in multifamily floors, dedicating his time to becoming knowledgeable and proficient in all things flooring related. Before establishing 1UP, he spent eight years at Griffith Floor Covering helping to build their sales department, working his way up to Vice President, and developing a portfolio of relationships within the industry.

 
     

Karen Caplan

Vice President of Property Management - Equity Residential

Ms. Caplan joined Equity Residential in 1997 and is currently a Vice President of Property Management for the state of Washington. Prior to her time in Washington, she worked as a Regional Manager in Minnesota and Texas. In her years before Equity Residential, Ms Caplan worked for five years with SCG Realty before it became Archstone. She was the Vice President of several private property management companies in Dallas, Texas. Her experience includes all aspects of property management including new development and lease-ups, renovations, and military housing. Ms Caplan was the author of one of the first CAPS courses introduced in 1986 and has served on the Board of Directors for both WMFHA and the San Antonio Apartment Association. She was also an active member of the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas for many years. She attended Trinity University in San Antonio and Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, Texas where she studied business and mathematics.

 



     

Mark Davis

President - Hero Creative Media

 

Mr. Davis has been in the multifamily housing industry for 10 years.  Starting as a leasing agent ten years ago with Essex Portfolio Trust, Mark was recognized in the company with the Top Gun award two years in a row which is an award for the top sales person of the year.  He went on to hold multiple positions from the vendor side to the property management side and has won various awards along the way.  Mark took a special interest in DAWN, which is an organization that operates a shelter for domestic violence victims, by creating a documentary on this important issue which is now used by numerous states for educational purposes.  He also continues to give back his talents in video production and multimedia to various small businesses and people across the country while maintaining his current position.  Mark currently is the President of Hero Creative, which is a branding and marketing firm specializing in the multifamily housing industry.  Mark and Hero Creative won the prestigious Community Service Award at the 2017 Emerald Awards celebration.

 

 


     

Shar Eller

Yardi Facilitator - ConAm 

Shar Eller began her career in the multifamily housing industry in 1989. Shar has a very diverse background holding several positions in the industry which include: Property Manager of medium and large garden style, midrise, lease up, renovation, senior, HUD and Tax Credit communities as well as holding regional/corporate positions as Accountant, Regional Systems Coordinator, Auditor, MRI Facilitator, Compliance Director, Training Manager and Regional Manager Associate. She has worked as a Trainer for ConAm Management, Allied Group, Weidner, Holland Residential and now currently with ConAm, responsible for their Yardi roll-out. 

 



     

Chris Hulford

Regional Vice President - Entrata

Chris Hulford serves the Pacific Northwest as Regional Vice President of Sales for Entrata, a leading technology platform serving the multi-family industry since 2003. Chris has been with Entrata since 2014 and has over 9 years of experience in the Multi Family Housing Industry. Chris has been a part of multiple WMFHA committees over the last 9 years and is currently serving on the Suppliers Council and Emerald Awards committees. Chris is a lifelong resident of Seattle and earned his Bachelor's degree from Western Washington University in History.

 

Rob Kellum

Chief Operating Officer - SUHRCO

 

As a principal and Chief Operating Officer, Rob Kellum oversees property management activities as well as new business development, marketing, property acquisition and disposition, and consulting for SUHRCO's multifamily portfolio.  He has led the re-development and re-positioning of apartment communities throughout the Pacific Northwest and has extensive experience in apartment-to-condominium conversions.  Prior to joining SUHRCO, Rob was president and managing partner of a local real estate investment, management, development, and brokerage company where he managed more than $300 million in real estate assets and developed and/or purchased and renovated $50 million in real estate.  He was responsible for property acquisition, disposition, and supervision of property renovation and management.  Rob has lived in the Seattle area since 1968.  After attending Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and the University of Munich in Germany, Rob received a B.A. in International Business and German in 1978.  He is a Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) with IREM®, a licensed real estate broker, and a member of the King County and Washington Board of Realtors.

 

 


Billy Pettit

President – Pillar Properties


In his role as President, Billy Pettit is responsible for the strategic planning and growth of the company, and maintains oversight of Pillar’s operations and development teams.  Under his leadership, Pillar has become a well-respected developer in the Puget Sound region.  Pillar currently has a portfolio of 1,500 apartment units and an active development pipeline that will add another 750 units to the portfolio over the next three years.  Pettit is also the leader of the strategic growth initiatives for sister company Merrill Gardens and he has been involved in over 20 development projects totaling over 3,000 units for the senior housing company.  Pettit was named to the Urban Land Institute 40 Under 40 Class of 2016 and he received the Multifamily Executive Rising Star of the Year Award in 2013.  He is also a past member of the Future Leaders Council for the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing.  Pettit holds a B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College, and a MBA in Finance from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. 


 




Joe Puckett

Lifetime Board Member - WMFHA

Joe Puckett retired from the active practice of law after more than 35 years in private practice which includes founding the law firm Puckett & Redford PLLC.  Mr. Puckett has been working for landlords for over 30 years and his office represents numerous property management companies, developers and owners of residential and commercial properties and advises them on a wide variety of landlord-tenant matters.  Widely recognized as an expert in the field of residential tenancies and a frequent speaker to lawyer groups and professional associations on these topics, Joe is the chair of the Government Affairs Committee and very actively involved in legislative activities that affect landlords in the State of Washington.  He also serves on the Legislative Affairs Committee and the Political Action Committee of the National Apartment Association.


Lauree Scheiber

Regional Manager - Madrona Ridge Residential

Ms. Scheiber has 22 years of experience in the Multifamily Industry. Prior to joining Madrona Ridge Residential, Lauree spent four years as a Regional Portfolio Manager for ConAm Management in the Seattle and Olympia markets, overseeing a diverse portfolio including historical, garden-style, and mid-rise communities, as well as two successful mixed-use urban lease ups. Prior to ConAm, Lauree gained extensive experience in the property management industry from Legacy Partners, from Simpson Property Group where she was Regional Marketing Director, and from regional management positions with other well-regarded property management firms including Whiteco and Greystar. Lauree studied music at Western State College and Communications at Colorado State University. She currently holds an active Washington State Broker’s License and recently earned CPM status with IREM.


     

Mike Simons

Executive Vice President – Allied Residential

Mike has been active in the multifamily real estate industry for over 25 years, handling property and asset management for thousands of units throughout the western United States. In 2000, Mike co-founded and served as President of Glacier Real Estate Services, a property management firm which focused on the management, lease up, and renovation of multifamily properties in Washington and Oregon. In 2011, Mike joined Allied Residential as a co-partner with the goal of rebranding, improving, and growing the company. Allied currently manages 76 properties and just under 8,000 units. Mike is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®), holds a Washington State Managing Brokers license and is a member of the National Association of Realtors.

 


Jennifer Watkins CAPS

Senior Area Director - Weidner Apartment Homes

A Washingtonian, Jennifer has been in property management for 21 years. She started as a leasing consultant in 1995 with Lincoln Property Company in the Shoreline Market. By 1997, Jennifer was a Business Manager for LPC and went on to manage for Essex and Equity Residential as an Assistant Project Manager for the condo conversion division and responsible for 5 projects. Her past experience with operations, construction and sales led Jennifer to a role at Weidner Apartment Homes as an Area Director in 2008 after the downturn. Jennifer is now a Senior Area Director for Washington with 3 portfolios and 18 properties.
