WMFHA is a powerful voice for the industry. As a member, you'll be heard in BOTH Washingtons - Olympia and D.C. And you will not only be informed about legislative issues, you will have a say in the process.
WMFHA's Government Affairs Program
The Government Affairs team provides sound guidance and solutions to issues that affect our industry. Joseph Puckett acts as our Government Affairs Committee Chair and Brett Waller serves as Director of Government Affairs. Kathryn Hedrick represents WMFHA in Olympia.
Together this team represents the interests of WMFHA members on the issues that will change and affect our
careers, jobs, and the way we do business. The goals of our
team are to act as a liaison between state and local legislators and the
association, working to create positive relationships with public officials,
educating policy makers on the real life effects potential legislative action will have on the rental housing industry, and
the importance of the rental housing industry to the local economy.
Their role is also to
be aware of any legal or political trends, policies, bills or ordinances which
might affect the multi-family industry, and advocate support of or opposition to
any policies that impact our members.
