Executive Director

Jim Wiard, CPM

Jim started with WMFHA in 2012.  As the Executive Director of the association, Jim oversees the day-to-day operations of the association, works with administrative staff and volunteer members to implement the vision and goals of the association, and reports to the Board of Directors and Board President.  Prior to joining WMFHA, Jim worked with Tarragon Property Services (formerly Investco Management Services), overseeing Tarragon's growing multifamily housing portfolio.  Before working with Tarragon, Mr. Wiard worked for Guardian Real Estate Services for 20 years, most recently as Senior Vice President for a portfolio of 130 properties and 12,000 units in six states.

He is a past president of Oregon's largest housing association, Multifamily NW (then called Metro Multifamily Housing Association).  Jim also has previously served on the board of WMFHA as well as on various committees. Jim earned his Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®), and holds the Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS) designation from the National Apartment Association.  Jim graduated from the University of Oregon, holding a Bachelors Degree in Business/Marketing.  Jim's wife Brooke is a Flight Attendant, and he has two children, Micah and Ciara.

              
   

Office Manager

 Katrina Bishop

Katrina joined the WMFHA team in May, 2017. New to the industry, she is eager to learn everything she can about the multi-family housing industry and the many ways it impacts our region, the families who live here and how she can contribute to that impact.

Prior to joining WHFHA, Katrina spent 10+ years at Telepress, a local printing company, managing the accounting and human resources departments. Before that, she was the office manager for a major produce distribution company new to the Seattle area.

Katrina enjoys spending time with her family and friends. When she is not in the office, you will find her gardening, crafting and working together with her husband of 20+ years, John, to restore their classic MG.


 


   

Director of Government Affairs

Brett Waller

Brett joined WMFHA in early 2016 as the Director of Government Affairs. Brett works closely with Joe Puckett and lobbyist Kathryn Hedrick to represent WMFHA member’s interests in local municipalities and throughout the State. Brett is passionate about the multifamily industry and knows what an important part multifamily communities play in our growing region.

Prior to joining WMFHA, Brett was a litigation attorney representing individual clients in contested family law issues in the Seattle area. Brett graduated from Santa Clara University, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and later graduated from St. Mary’s University of San Antonio Law School.

Brett enjoys spending time with his family and partner Chris, taking advantage of all our region has to offer.

 
     

Director of Career Development

Sloane Cerbana

Sloane joined the WMFHA staff in January of 2008. Sloane oversees the educational programs and career development opportunities that WMFHA offers, as well as partners with the rest of the WMFHA team in all aspects of association operations. With a background in corporate training and development, prior to joining the WMFHA team, Sloane spent many years leading the Training and Development efforts at Capital One Financial and The Loxottica Group.  Sloane has a real passion and commitment to the importance of education and enjoys partnering with the Career Development Committee to improve WMFHA's programming year over year.

Before joining WMFHA, Sloane was a Training Manager for Capital One Financial, and prior to that a Regional Trainer of Operations with the Luxottica Group. Sloane is a graduate of the Art Institute of Seattle with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing.

Sloane and her husband of 25+ years, Greg, have a full, adventurous life that includes four children: Chelsie, Kai, McKenna, and Kekoa......and wonder-dog Opie!  They enjoy family adventures of travel when work and college schedules allow, and Greg and Sloane can be seen on their Harley's exploring the beautiful PNW on a nice day!

 


   

Events and Marketing Coordinator

Tricia Johnson

Tricia joined the WMFHA staff in the Fall of 2012. Tricia oversees Events and Marketing for the association, planning the many wonderful events that WMFHA puts on each year including but not limited to: Emerald Awards, Education Conference and Exposition, Washington Apartment Outlook and Chili Cook-Off. Prior to joining WMFHA, Tricia worked for Ariba, a fortune 1000 company, in the eCommerce division, and before that she spent over 10 years at Telepress, a large corporate identity printing company as the Director of eCommerce and Business Development.

Tricia is a graduate of Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Visual Communications. Outside of work, Tricia enjoys spending time with family and friends and supporting her children in their many sporting events. Her husband, Dave, is the Recreation Superintendent for the City of Tukwila and they have two children, Jordan and Gracie.
