WMFHA Addresses Senate Housing Committee on the Security Deposits

WMFHA Government Affairs Director Ryan Makinster and WMFHA member, Kevin Weishaar,  VP, Mercy Housing Management Group testified before the Senate Housing Committee on the Security Deposit acceptance and return process at the request of the Chairwoman, Senator Patty Kuderer.

They highlighted current procedures as well as concerns, including the difficulty of having a to comply with a short window for security deposit statements and returns .Mr. Makinster highlighted the general process while Mr. Weishaar spoke to the process and significant barriers created specifically for affordable housing providers.
