WMFHA Hosts Gubernatorial Candidate Senator Mark Mullet

Posted By: Ryan Makinster Advocacy News,

On Monday September 18, WMFHA hosted Senator Mark Mullet, candidate for Washington Governor, in our offices. The event was attended by Board of Directors, Government Affairs and Political Action Committee members. It provided a chance for Senator Mullet to explain his platform, support for the multi-family industry, and his plans for his administration when he gets elected.

As a Washington State Senator, Mullet has supported increased funding for critical transportation projects, sponsored and passed a 400-million-dollar property tax cut bill, and sponsored permitting reform to help build the housing Washington needs, from single-family homes to large multi-family projects.

Senator Mullet was instrumental in the creation and funding of the Landlord Mitigation Fund and the Tenant Preservation Fund through the Department of Commerce. As Chair of the Senate Capital Budget, he continued to ensure these funds were available throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic.

His continued support for housing and our industry was instrumental in the board of directors’ decision to unanimously endorse his candidacy for governor.
