What was your favorite project you worked on during the day?
I thoroughly enjoyed our collaborative painting project, where everyone pitched in and worked together seamlessly. It was amazing to see different teams come together, each tackling a unique aspect of the artwork. The teamwork and camaraderie that developed during this project were truly inspiring
How was it working with the project managers James and Terry?
Terry and James demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, driving the project forward with their expertise and enthusiasm. Their ability to keep the teams occupied and motivated was impressive, and we were able to deliver the project on time thanks to their effective guidance.
Did you learn anything from working with other maintenance professionals from other companies or suppliers?
I learnt that teamwork, compassion, and collaboration are principles that drive success. Witnessing individuals unite for a common cause reminds us of the strength that lies in collective effort and mutual support.
Was it rewarding for you knowing that we were helping senior citizens with limited income?
There's nothing quite like the feeling of being able to help others, especially senior citizens. They bring so much wisdom and experience to our community, and being able to support them in any way I can is truly rewarding.
Any other thoughts that you like to share about your experience?
I'm grateful for WMFHA's effort in bringing everyone together for this event. Giving back to the community and making a positive difference is what it's all about- thank you to all involved.

What was your favorite project you worked on during the day?
Working on the fence was extremely rewarding. I learned a lot about the process from a lot of people with a lot of knowledge. Seeing everyone take lead in specific areas and build an entire fence for Ms. Cheri in 8hrs was an accomplishment!
How was it working with the project managers, James & Terry?
James was my project manager and I found his sense of community and engagement with those around him to be contagious. His lead by example and human centric focus makes you want to get out and give it your all! And that's exactly what everyone did. Thanks James!
Did you learn anything from working with other maintenance professionals from other companies or suppliers?
Absolutely, Josh Ranes had a lot of knowledge that I absorbed and James Santiago also had a deep knowledge I found impressive which helped me be an effective student during the entire process.
Was it rewarding for you knowing that we were helping senior citizens with limited income?
I was able to connect with Ms. Cheri momentarily over her shed doors. As silly as that sounds she shared stories about City code, the person who installed them, and her love for fire fighters. Her level of openness and friendliness provided a window into her life which helped make the overall experience much more personal and meaningful.

What was your favorite project you worked on during the day?
Honestly, it's hard to choose just one favorite project because I felt a strong sense of motivation with every task I took on. Whether it was mixing concrete, building the fence, loading and running wheelbarrows of mulch around the house, or even leaf blowing the roof and gutters, each part of the day felt purposeful and rewarding. But if I had to pick one, it would actually be the final cleanup. Making sure not a single detail was missed or anything left behind. There was something really satisfying about leaving the site spotless and complete.
How was it working with the project managers, James & Terry?
Knowing both James and Terry personally but not having had the chance to work with them directly until this project made the experience even more meaningful. It was clear how much they both care about every detail and every person involved. Having James as my personal mentor added an extra level of comfort and confidence. It really confirmed that I was paired with the right person.
Did you learn anything from working with other maintenance professionals from other companies or suppliers?
Yes, definitely. It was a great reminder that even though we come from different companies, we all share a common goal and bring valuable experience to the table. Working alongside other professionals and suppliers showed me how much can be accomplished when we pool our collective knowledge and skills. It reinforced the idea that while I take pride in where I work, we’re all equals out there. Each contributing our part to get the job done right.
Was it rewarding for you knowing that we were helping senior citizens with limited income?
Absolutely. It was an incredible honor to be part of something that directly helped a senior on a limited income. Throughout the day, I made it a point to check in with the homeowner to ensure she was comfortable and satisfied with the work. Hearing her repeatedly express how grateful and amazed she was truly meant a lot. At the end of the day, we shared a genuine hug and though I went home exhausted, I also felt proud, fulfilled, and deeply thankful for the experience.
Any other thoughts that you would like to share about your experience?
Honestly, the entire experience was something special. It reminded me why I do what I do: not just to maintain buildings, but to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. There was a real sense of community, teamwork, and purpose throughout the day. Being surrounded by so many passionate, skilled individuals all working toward a shared goal was both inspiring and energizing. I walked away not just proud of the work we did, but also grateful for the connections and memories we created.
