The Board of Directors of the Washington Multi-Family Housing Association (WMFHA) voted and approved the association’s endorsement of Senator Mark Mullet (D-Issaquah) for Governor. With this endorsement, WMFHA will be actively supporting Sen. Mark Mullet’s 2024 gubernatorial campaign through public outreach, member engagement, and industry education efforts.

Sen. Mullett earned the support of the multi-family development and property management industry because of his consistent and unwavering support for our industry, housing development, and his pragmatic approach to finding solutions for Washington’s housing crisis.

“During a time of partisan conflict, Sen. Mullett has reached across the aisle to seek bipartisan solutions to our housing crisis. In addition, he continues to seek comment and suggestions from stakeholders on all sides of the issue rather than only listening to those that seek a specific outcome,” said WMFHA President Tali Reiner.

As a Washington State Senator, Mullet has supported increased funding for critical transportation projects, sponsored and passed a $400 million property tax cut bill, and sponsored permitting reform to help build the housing Washington needs, from single-family homes to large multi-family projects.

Reiner said, “Sen. Mullet understands the concerns of the citizens of Washington state regarding housing, especially housing insecurity.  He also realizes that any solution must encourage the creation of more housing, not less, and that it will take a significant long-term effort to achieve success, rather than some of the current proposals that may ultimately stifle new inventory.” She goes on to say, “WMFHA sees Senator Mullet as a rational and collaborative legislator with a proven track record of commonsense policy-making that supports economic development and housing growth”.
