WMFHA is entering its 23rd year! And, while we have grown to be the 7th largest affiliate in the NAA network, we continue to be reliant on our volunteer leaders for ongoing success and impact.  Serving on a committee at WMFHA not only expands your professional network exponentially, it leads to growth and satisfaction as you join other multi-family professionals committed to making a difference.

Whether your interests are in industry education, advocacy, philanthropy or helping increase engagement and value among the WMFHA network - we have a committee for you!

There are three qualifications to serve on a committee

  1. Be employed by a WMFHA member in good standing
  2. Be able to attend and participated in the regularly scheduled committee meetings
  3. Comply with the WMFHA Agreement to Serve agreement (including the Anti-trust policy)

WESTERN WASHINGTON COMMITTEES

NEW FOR 2026: WMFHA AMBASSADOR TEAM

We are looking for enthusiastic ambassadors from various geographic areas: North Sound, South Sound, Eastside, Seattle, Kitsap Penninsula

Purpose: Meet & Greet new WMFHA members, assist with promoting WMFHA events and programs, be the WMFHA cheerleader at your company! 

Meeting ScheduleOne orientation meeting in January, then participate when needed in your area.

Career Development 

January-December/Full Year Committee

Purpose

This committee partners with the Director of Career Development and the Board of Directors to bring timely, relevant educational offerings to the membership, generate revenue for the association, promote RPM Careers through workforce development initiatives and develop a top tier course schedule for the annual Education Conference. 

Meeting Schedule: Meets Monthly: 1st Thursday at 9:00am
One meeting per quarter is in person, the remaining are virtual

EdCon (2027)

August 2026-April 2027/Partial Year Committee

Purpose: Plan, promote and execute WMFA's largest signature event of the year; the annual education conference and tradeshow.

Meeting Schedule: Meets Monthly: 3rd Tuesday at 9:00am
One meeting per quarter is in person, the remaining are virtual

Emerald Awards 

March-December/Partial Year Committee

Purpose: Members of this committee help to spread the word about the nomination and judging process for the annual awards event. Once nominations close, committee members along with nominee sponsors deliver nominee pins and certificates to all nominees. The committee will also help plan the day’s events, including gift bags, decor and entertainment. 

Meeting Schedule: Meets Monthly: Last Wednesday at 10:00am

Government Affairs

January-December/Full Year Committee

Purpose: Responsible for providing their experience and opinion to direct the advocacy team in protecting the multifamily housing industry from onerous laws at the local, state and federal level. Members also assist in the development of policies that assist the association and its members in presenting a positive image of multifamily housing to the community at large.  Members may also be asked to speak to elected officials on behalf of the industry in a community or private forum and are expected to participate in WMFHA’s Annual Day on the Hill.

Marketing

January-December/Full Year Committee

Purpose: Members of the Marketing Committee are responsible for supporting the organization’s messaging, and brand to best relay its mission and engage its members. This includes furthering WMFHA’s reach on social media, contributing to blogs and articles on the WMFHA website, supporting video and still photo development, as well as researching and investigating new technology opportunities.

Member Engagement

Purpose: To support the growth, engagement, and retention of WMFHA's members.

Supplier Council

January-December/Full Year Committee

Purpose: The Supplier Council serves as the voice of WMFHA’s Supplier Network, ensuring supplier initiatives support WMFHA’s broader membership, that supplier members have value of membership by through ongoing programs, sponsorships, supplier education opportunities and more.

WMFHA Gives

January-December/Full Year Committee

Purpose: The goal of the WMFHA Community Service Events Committee is to plan and support events with charitable organization ties and community service responsibilities which will allow members to donate, volunteer or otherwise lend support to our broader community.

WMFHA Invitational (Golf)

August-May/Partial Year Committee

Purpose: To plan, promote and execute the annual WMFHA Invitational Golf Tournament

This group for the 2026 golf event is formed and the work is under way. 
Opportunities to join this group for the 2027 WMFHA Invitational will open later in 2026.


EASTERN WASHINGTON VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Spokane Executive Council

January-December/Full Year Committee

Purpose: The Executive Council is comprised of senior level property management professionals and  suppliers that represent Eastern Washington members.  This group partners with WMFHA staff to provide direction and feedback on events, programs and educational offerings that take place in the greater Spokane market. 

Meeting Schedule: Meets every other month: 2nd Tuesday at Noon (in person)

Tri-Cities Executive Council

January-December/Full Year Committee

Purpose: The Executive Council is comprised of senior level property management professionals and  suppliers that represent Eastern Washington members.  This group partners with WMFHA staff to provide direction and feedback on events, programs and educational offerings that take place in the greater Tri-Cities market. 

Meeting Schedule: Meets Monthly: 1st Thursday at 9:00am
One meeting per quarter is in person, the remaining are virtual

Spokane Ambassador Team

January-December/Full Year Committee
