Stay-at-home orders in Washington in March 2020 meant a new look for education. Addressing an immediate need for information related to the COVID-19 pandemic, WMFHA created 6 Feet Apart - free webinars for our members. Acting on the turn of a dime, we executed these almost flawlessly over the course of the year.

We relied on subject matter experts to share knowledge and expertise. 20 no-cost webinars featured topics including: disinfecting, marketing, resident care and engagement, multiple updates on changing legislation, leadership, communications, virtual leasing, stress management, technology, and more. Over 2,000 people across the country attended these development opportunities.

Members urgently needed information in a rapidly evolving environment, and we were there for them with 6 Feet Apart.

“Thank you for this series. I am learning so much in this quickly changing time,” said one member.

Another said, “Thank you for these webinars. They are always very informative.”

“This was so worth 30 minutes.”

During turbulent changes for our industry, we knew some people would be forced to miss these live opportunities. Therefore, we created a page on our website where members could view 6 Feet Apart recordings. Almost 500 additional members have accessed that information.

WMFHA has always taken our industry’s education seriously and is dedicated to the career development of our associates. In or out of a response to a pandemic, our goal is to find ways to provide meaningful, effective, and engaging learning experiences for members. 6 Feet Apart and virtual education are here to stay.
