Affordable Housing Summit

WMFHA is excited to announce our first ever Affordable Housing Summit. The event is designed to bring affordable housing professionals together for a day of education, networking and brainstorming. This event reinforces WMFHA's commitment to ensuring all of our members have opportunities for education and industry support.

Classes include:

The Applicant Experience: Transforming a daunting process into one of trust and transparency. In this session, industry experts will share practical strategies, empathetic communication techniques, and best practices to clearly explain the "why" behind each step, protect applicant privacy, build confidence in the verification process, and ultimately make applicants feel respected and supported rather than scrutinized—helping more families successfully navigate their path to stable, affordable homes.

Affordable Housing 101 - Becoming more familiar with the correct terminology and understanding different funding sources.

Affordable Housing 201 - This session will do a deep dive into common compliance errors and best practices to create a better experience for the applicants and the staff.

The Insurance Expertise You Need to Hear - Hear directly from insurance brokers specializing exclusively in affordable housing and onsite managers with decades of experience. Real scenarios will be provided and breakdown what went wrong; proactive prevention strategies will be shared and find out what your policy covers and where there may be gaps.

We will be inviting office of housing representatives from different cities and counties to attend for some Q&A and a time for brainstorming relevant topics over lunch.
