Government Affairs Committee – Working for All

Posted By: Ryan Makinster Advocacy News,

After a brief break for August, our Government Affairs Committee was back in full force last week. The committee voted to contribute to a NAIOP Washington campaign to support an effort to forego the 10-15% energy code efficiency “bump” above state mandated requirements. The group believed this was a good way to support the mayor and our membership in Seattle by advocating for less unnecessary “add on costs” in the development process.

The GAC also began discussing legislative priorities for WMFHA and our strategy as we prepare for short session beginning in January. They helped give direction to our contract lobbyists and Government Affairs team to allow them to best represent our members' interests and our organization's mission.

Stay tuned for regular updates and action alerts as we are back in Olympia fighting for you and your business!
