Legislative Session is officially over!

Posted By: Carter Nelson Advocacy News,

As of March 7, Legislative Session in the state of Washington officially come to a close. After a hard fought 60 days with the multifamily housing industry at the forefront of a couple of high visibility bills, we came out victorious. The highlight was once again stopping rent control in it's tracks as well as stopping two extremely expensive tax proposals, the Real Estate Transfer Tax (RETT) and the rental industry B&O tax. This was largely due to the efforts of our lobbyist Krystelle Purkey, our advocacy team, and members that engaged in the process. We are hosting a legislative wrap-up on April 3, where you can get the whole overview of what passed, and more importantly, what didn’t.
