GA in the Community

Posted By: Carter Nelson Advocacy News,

The WMFHA GA team has been staying busy with events all over the region. In preparation for the Regional Leadership Conference (RLC), a 3-day conference put on by the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, Ryan and Carter attended the first annual RLC Seattle Day where they received updates on the Seattle City Council races, public safety and transportation in Seattle, and how the mayor plans to move Seattle forward. We also attended the Marcus & Millichap PNW Multi-Family Forum, an informative event that included some of our members as panelists, sharing valuable insight about the state of multi-family housing in the PNW and our region’s future.

It’s election season! That means the Candidate forums, debates and fundraisers are abundant. Between our team, we have attended many of these in Seattle, Kirkland, Redmond and Bellevue. It’s important to know what candidates are saying about issues that affect our industry, and to have a pulse on the top priorities of our local elected officials and community members. We are also getting ready for legislative session, which means continuing to meet with legislators and lobbyists in preparation. Recently the GA Team traveled to BIAW in Olympia for a brunch hosted by Senate and House Republican leadership. It was a great opportunity to hear about the upcoming legislative session and introduce Carter Nelson, Public Affairs Manager to legislators from across the state.
