APARTMENTALIZE 2023 Recap

Posted By: Sloane Cerbana Articles, Industry Trends,

Over 16,000 property management professionals gathered in Atlanta Georgia in June for the National Apartment Association's annual education conference and tradeshow, APARTMENTALIZE.  Among those were some of WMFHA's staff, Board members and over 100 of our members.

While the conference officially began on Wednesday, WMFHA team members arrived early to participate in Affiliate Learning Day on Monday and attend committee meetings on Tuesday.  Nick, Sloane, Tricia and Ryan all learned a lot about what is happening on the national level for Advocacy as well as new education and career development programs being developed by the National Apartment Association Education Institute and brought back a lot of great ideas to enhance our member services and satisfaction.

Wednesday kicked off with the Region 7 meeting.  WMFHA is proud to have had national leadership presence as Greg Cerbana, with Weidner Apartment Homes has served as a Region 7 RVP for several years.  WMFHA had a great turnout of current board members in attendance.

The conference was filled with incredible speakers, both in the education sessions and from the Main Stage during the General Sessions and the Game Changers Series.  A highlight was hearing Jason Sudakis (TED LASSO!!) speak!  Some of the common themes and trends that we learned about were Centralization of Services in property management operations, HR Trends (the testing of 4-day work weeks, flex schedules and "Gig Work"), Leadership, DE&I, and Mental Health. The WMFHA team also enjoyed visiting all of our WMFHA members who were exhibiting on the incredible trade show floor that featured hundreds of industry leading supplier partners.

Among our contingents, we were especially proud to have the following members leading the way and making Washington proud:

Twenty in their 20's

Diversity Leadership Program

Teddi Martin, CAM - Diversity Leadership Program

NAA and the APARTMENTALIZE conference have so much to offer in terms of leadership and professional development!  As members of WMFHA - we hope you are taking full advantage of these opportunities!  We would love to see more WMFHA members as Twenty in their 20's, DLP or Leadership Lyceum participants at the 2024 APARTMENTALIZE conference
June 19-21 in Philadelphia!
