Credential Spotlight: Lexi Furnish, CAM

Bio: 

As a Spokane native, I have enjoyed my experiences within this great city from the time I was born. I now enjoy this beautiful city with Kaden, my free-spirited 9-year-old and Sofia, my little diva who is just over a year. I spend most of my time with my children exploring and watching them interact with each other. I have spent the last 8 years perfecting my craft within the rental industry. I started as a Leasing Agent 8 years ago within Rockwood Property Management and have moved from property to property learning and growing. Now I am settled in as a Property Manager. 

What inspired you to get your credential?

I have been with Rockwood Property Management for just over eight years and being a firm believer in growth and education, I wanted to push myself a little more.

How has your credential helped you the most?

In our days of technology when you can pull a report and the system gives you the answer, I can look at these reports and understand what drives them and how they influence other areas of the business. It has really helped me to understand areas of which my team can have a direct impact on our bottom line.

Based on the knowledge you gained during the course, what advice would you give to your peers who want to grow their careers?

Taking a program such as the Certified Apartment Manager was a little intimidating; going into the exam is nerve-wracking. The best advice is to just breathe and find a way through it. After achieving such a great milestone, it feels tremendous and so worth the effort put in.
