Everything You Need to Know to Comply with the CA Consumer Privacy Act

Apartment companies doing business in California or with Californians must be ready to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the first “omnibus” privacy law in the United States, by January 1, 2020. The CCPA applies to any business that collects personal information about consumers in California, and that has annual gross revenues in excess of $25 million. The CCPA becomes operative on January 1, 2020, except for certain personal information about employees and B2B contacts that have delayed application of CCPA requirements for one year (until January 1, 2021).
