Seattle Councilmember Sara Nelson to meet with WMFHA GAC

Seattle City Council Member Sara Nelson will join the WMFHA Government Affairs Committee on Thursday June 15 from 12:30-2 to give an update on industry issues in Seattle and to hear members’ concerns about current processes in Seattle.

She will update members on her role as Vice-Chair of the Sustainability and Renter’s Rights Committee, recent public drug use legislation, her work of the late fee ordinance as well as potential future legislation.  Committee members are expected to discuss concerns with the current operation of the Tenant Relocation Assistance Program as well as the problems inherent with the current required notification press for rents increases and it failure to achieve its intended outcome while adding substantial cost for housing providers.
